Delivering Our Project – Implementation

Deployment of any solution that is well designed and led by professional project managers is far more likely to be successful. Call Design is proud of the fact that it has never failed in a technology deployment project, a fact due to its solid planning and management skills, but also that attests to its ‘path of lowest risk’ philosophy when approaching a deployment.

Delivering Your Project - Project Management

Call Design’s Project Management skills are regularly sought after by large organisations keen to obtain independent project leadership. Call Design’s highly trained Project Managers are recognised as having the required skills to lead these often complex, multi-technology roll-outs.

Of particular pride is that Call Design has been sub-contracted by vendors such as Telstra, Avaya Communications, Nortel and Aspect Communications. Working on behalf of these vendors, Call Design has been able to lead the deployment of technology solutions that these organisations have been unable to fulfil themselves.

Our Methodology

The Call Design project team use two very distinct methods to bring about successful project implementation

PRINCE2

PRINCE2 is a structured method for effective management of any size or type of project. It provides a method for managing projects within a clearly defined framework. Each process is defined with its key inputs and outputs together with the specific objectives to be achieved and activities to be carried out.

The key features of PRINCE2 are:

  • Its focus on business justification
  • A defined organisation structure for the project management team
  • Its product-based planning approach
  • Its emphasis on dividing the project into manageable and controllable stages
  • Its flexibility to be applied at a level appropriate to the project.

PMBOK

The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) is a collection of processes and knowledge areas generally accepted as best practice within the project management discipline. As an internationally recognised standard (IEEE Std 1490-2003) it provides the fundamentals of project management, irrespective of the type of project PMBOK recognises 5 basic process groups and 9 knowledge areas typical of almost all projects. The basic concepts are applicable to projects, programs and operations.

The five basic process groups are:

  1. Initiating
  2. Planning
  3. Executing
  4. Monitoring and Controlling
  5. Closing
